The state’s biggest, toughest and hottest hip hop dance competition!

On Saturday 27 August get your friends together and head to Brisbane’s Riverstage to witness electrifying hip hop dance energy when more than 25 crews go head to head. Back for its fourth year in a row, the competition will present the best of our state’s dance scene as they perform choreographed routines fused with gravity defying expressions of human skill.

The evening will also feature live performances from hip hop dance champions Ultimatum and Runway, fresh from representing Australia at the Hip Hop International World Championships in LA, as well as rising star Ezra James and more.

An esteemed panel of dancers and choreographers will judge the competition as crews attempt to out-perform their rivals on the dance floor leaving the best dance crew to be officially crowned as The Remix Dance Champions.

Judges:

  • Lizzie Wicks
  • Marrietta Lam
  • Matty B
  • Mr. Sprinkles

MC: Dr Rhythm

Presented by Brisbane City Council, Fresh Elements, and Contact Inc.

Stylin’ UP will be celebrating it’s ELEVENTH YEAR on Saturday, May 28th. We inticipate that this year will be bigger than before with an expected 12,000+ to make their way towards Inala to witness some of the country’s’ finest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hip Hop music and dance artists, including Indigenous Intrudaz, Archie Roach, Impossible Odds, Last Kinection, Dust Dance Crew and a host of other talent.

Established in 2000 by local Inala elders in partnership with Brisbane City Council as a way of instilling their youth with pride in themselves, their community and their culture. The event has grown to become Australia’s largest Indigenous Hip Hop and R&B music and dance events that celebrates youth and contemporary Indigenous culture. Produced with and for young people in Brisbane and across Queensland, Stylin’ Up is also an award winning, nationally lauded contemporary Indigenous creative arts development program (winning the 2004 Premier of QLD award and a Reconciliation award in 2008).
